5+ Valentine's Day Books my 3 Year Old is Loving

Here are some of our current favorite Valentine's kids books for me and my toddler! I'll try to grow this list rather than create linked parts.

A fun twist on a traditional Valentine's story.

Most of the other books by this couple are about whiches and Halloween. They do also have a Thanksgiving one. I have not read the others

Cranberry Valentine
By Wende and Harry Devlin

This book had my three year old laughing out loud. It was pretty silly and great for those with neurodivergence and struggling with completing tasks and forgetting things.

Silly Tilly's Valentine
Written and illustrated by Lillian Hoban

I Bug You by Dori Elyse
Illustrated by Riley Samels

This book is absolutely adorable with little hidden hearts on every beautifully illustrated page.

Pete the Cat: Valentine's Day is Cool
By Kimberly and James Dean

Of course if your little one lives Pete the Cat like mine, this is a favorite and very sweet. I love the idea of celebrating Valentine's as a friends holiday.

Though I'm less excited about Valentine's Day being for crushes than simply friendship, this was a great book! So many good points and lessons to take away. Great for girls and boys alike.

This book addresses issues like bullying and girls being strong but still enjoying being persued.

A Valentine for Norman Noggs
By Valiaka Gregory
Illustrated by Marsha Winborn

My son refused to listen to this one based on the cover and I did not end up figuring out why. If you are looking for a Valentine and Bee theme book the list of them is endless!!

Gravity Theme Week Toddler Lesson Plaan

Books about gravity
A Funny Look at Gravity
By Rick Eye

Gravity is a Mystery from the Lets Read About Science Series

These rubber noodles are crazy trendy right now and I'm not surprised! They are super affordable and fantastic quality. They worked perfectly for hinges with Marble Runs used this way. It did take some squishing the acorns down by han.

Marble Run for more than just marbles!?

We had fun using marbles, acorns, and water to better understand gravity.

No Marble Run? No problem! You can always use toilet paper tubes, paper towels tubes, or wrapping paper tubes. You can even roll up a piece of paper or make a marble run in a shoe box

The Ultimate Book of Space

This is another book we absolutely love at our house!!

We also have the Construction and Weather (maybe it's called planet Earth) one.

We read them over and over. #BabyBoyFollum could read these almost every day and I don't get bored either.
I still have only read about a third of the text on this one pictured above which I definitely see as a sign that it will grow well with our little one.

Next on our wishlist is the dinosaur series but I'm waiting to find it on sale or used in excellent condition. Be aware that buying these ones used is a risk but it's mostly worked out especially when buying for a toddler with "grabby grubby paws."

What are some of your favorite interactive books?

Dino Sensory Bin - Use What You Have

Ok definitely not Pinterest worthy, but it's real!  And was pretty easy and free too!

My little one went on a search around the house for all of his toy trees and dinosaurs.

I have a couple other items separated into bins in baggies by color. We recently did a project based on the "Blues" exhibition at the local Quilt Museum

I also have various things arranged by color. Maybe it's an ADHD brain hack, maybe it's an artist thing, idk, but it make this sensory bin very quick to set up.

Green - trees and grass
Red - volcano and lava flows
Warm colors - lava and ground
Space themed rocks - my 3 year old insisted on including them so there they are as well

And dinosaurs

My little one likes to dig and find hidden objects, but a friend of his likes to use tongs so we made these clothespin grabbers to play with too

What are your kiddos favorite colors, toys, or tasks?

What do you already have laying around?

How can you use items in New ways? Can you wrap presents or unroll a volcano?
